Acomb men’s 1 travelled to far flung Lindum 4 looking to cement their second place in division 3 behind Tadcaster. The tangerines started passing well and opened the scoring when Matt Dickenson tapped in from a shot by Jamie Robinson after 5 minutes. With the greater possession the lead was soon doubled from a Robinson penalty corner strike. The second half was a goal scoring session with Robinson’s sharp drive starting proceedings. Lindum pulled a goal back from a goal mouth scramble before Robinson netted from a reverse stick strike for his second hat trick in consecutive weeks. Again Lindum reduced the tangerines advantage before Acomb started to run away with three goals in the last 10 minutes. Robinson struck another penalty corner before Pete Hilton neatly netting from another penalty corner routine for the sixth. Bob Unsworth fantastically cleared off the goal line before a precise Stuart Baxter strike rounded off a fine sweeping move to give Acomb a 7-2 victory and all three points.
