Coronavirus Club Update

Message from Dave Sykes:

Dear all

We are now facing unprecedented times across all aspects of our lives. Each day brings new restrictions that are affecting all sections of the club. Cricket, Hockey and Darts are likely to have curtailed seasons, and of course this will impact significantly on the club’s finances should this current situation be prolonged. Our Wednesday night quiz has been postponed for the time being, and it is almost certain that functions booked will be either postponed or cancelled.

At this current time establishments are not being forced to close down, and I would like to recommend that until we are told otherwise, we should endeavour to keep the club open in some form. We should however be mindful to ensure that we operate as safely as possible during the current situation.

With that in mind can I propose the following;

That we remain open on the following days; Wednesday 8-11pm, Friday 8-11pm, Saturday 4-8pm. Sunday 7-10.30pm.

That we adopt the following protocols;

People are asked to sanitise or wash their hands upon entry
People are asked to adopt the recommended social distancing rules (stand or sit 1 metre apart)
All purchases are made by contactless card/phone to avoid the handling of cash

This information could be shared via our team apps, along with strict requests not to attend the club if they or immediate family members are displaying the known symptoms of the virus. I’ve spoken to Gemma and she is keen to support us however she can. Given that we’ve worked so hard to get ourselves in a decent financial position, what I am proposing may just allow us to scrape through the next few weeks/months.

Of course everything is very fluid at the minute and we may have to alter course further. In the short term I’d just like to get some consensus from you on my suggestions to proceed as above for now.

Thanks

Dave
