Hi Bob,

Thank you for your email. I will pass on your team’s regards to John.

It’s still not entirely clear what has happened. He’s still in York hospital since he was taken on Saturday.

He said he felt a “popping sensation” in his head 10 minutes from the end of the match and took himself off. He wasn’t hit or anything so nothing to do with the match. From then he was feeling very dizzy and nauseous. It was when we got to the club afterwards that he began heavily perspiring, being sick and his eyes were rolling around in the back of his head.

He’s had a couple of scans but nothing is showing up at present. He’s been in for an MRI this morning and we await the results.

The doctors’ theory at the moment is that he’s had a blood clot in a section of his brain and effectively suffered a mini-stroke on Saturday. That being said, until we hear further I don’t want anything they think has happened being understood as fact.

Thanks again for the email. Happy for you to pass this note onto your team that were there on Saturday.

I’ll try to send an update as and when we hear anything.

Kind regards,

James
